Focus on the Fabulous
The Viking ship has launched, and the 2024-2025 voyage is underway! Our journey is guided by the District Ownership Plan, which prioritizes four key focus areas: Curriculum and Instruction, Post-Secondary and Workforce Readiness, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, and Recruitment and Retention.
The District Ownership Team held its first school year meeting on Wednesday to review and align our goals. We're committed to staying on course and achieving our goals, all in support of our core belief: increasing academic achievement for ALL students.
Rewind
On Friday, we had a productive day with a ½ Professional Development Day and a ½ workday for staff. During the professional development session, our staff analyzed student data, focusing on areas where students scored lower, and developed strategies to address these gaps more intentionally in their lessons. Our ambitious goal is to have our students perform at or above the state level within three years.
Meanwhile, Ms. Alfson’s culinary arts students were already cooking up a storm! They’re gaining valuable real-world skills while also enjoying some delicious desserts.
In athletics, both the CHS Volleyball and football teams kicked off their seasons last week. The Lady Vikings showcased strong teamwork in their first match against Salida on Thursday night. The football team traveled to Rye for a scrimmage, where the boys looked good and played hard!
